The colors thread (show us your color themes) [Alaska only]

Ayla Wrote:Yes, I guess, because I tried to make it look "mat", and follow the whole "fanart comes last" idea from djh, I made the background colour "ff" and removed the background filter too.

You can try and change the background "ff" to make it more see-through, but I don't know how it will look though.

That's fine mate. Was just checking that it wasn't me installing it wrong or something. Might have a play around and see what happens Big Grin

Amra Wrote:I checked it out on my computer & both the slideshow & regular viewing of pictures come thru clearly (no mosaic pattern on them) so I'm not sure what may be happening on your HTPC.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Sorry!
Today I checked it again and as you said, there is no pattern over those views. If it happens again, I will see if I can recreate it.
Thanks for your time (and colors)! :o

Loving these colour themes, using the orange one atm and it looks very nice. The green one above looks equally nice.

Might even get me to switch from red if it looks as good on my screen as the pics.

I am also working on a lighter version of the green one posted above, I "borrowed" the colors from the Adobe site, it is called Tea and Zen II. I will post screens when I get home and if I finish with Tea and Zen I will post the XML.

Not sure that I like it:

@Hitcher and co, great job with making this simple to mod! Loving the skin.

I just updated the code for "blorange" to work with the latest git pull (new flag entry).

You can get it in the original post #40 Smile

I really like the background, but I think the frames might go better as a shade of lightish blue.

I think the frames would be good with the lighter color of the shaded area on lower left screen.

Here is a tool that I use called 'Colorpicker' that can help with getting hex values of colors displayed on screen. It is for Windows.

Just found out that Blorange has a nice effect when used with Red Slate. ^_^
Otherwise it looks great by itself, just a little too solid for my tastes but still good.

Downloaded the latest from Git but I don't see some of the stuff here (like the black/orange theme). Is that something I need to download separately?

And a stupid question: what's the difference between THEMES and COLORS in the settings?
Reply

Theme = theme package including graphics and a default color scheme
Color = color scheme for the text, menus, borders, etc.

If you've ever customized your Windows environment, it's a close analogy. "Theme" is like the Windows theme that includes the desktop background image and a default color scheme whereas "Color" is only the color scheme component.

A good example is the Mosaic Blue theme on the first page of this thread that contains both the Mosaic_Blue.xpr theme file and 2 different color schemes (Mosaic_Blue.xml and Mosaic_Blue2.xml). The .xpr theme file applies the mosaic pattern in the background and specifies the default Mosaic_Blue.xml color scheme. However, after you've applied the theme you're free to use any color scheme, even Red Slate or night for funky color combinations.

WJWNL Wrote:That worked, thanks! But I've come across a new problem:

Before updating the .xml files, I could give the 'Finding Freebo' and 'Dexter' parts different colors. But after the update, they both react on '<color name="OSDPlayingTrack">FFFFFFFF</color>'.

Is this supposed to happen? Or can this be changed?

I'm really looking forward to you sharing this, i like the black and white, clean and easy on the eyes Smile

I'm still busy getting everything nice and clean, there will be some more changes besides the black and white theme!

Edit:

Can someone tell me which color lines I have to edit to change the colors of the 'now playing', 'artist' and 'name'? And which. xml file contains the information about this small 'now playing' window on the home screen?

VideoOverlay.xml has the code for the 'now playing' window
