So as the title suggests, I was wondering if it is possible to force xbmc to reload itself after waking. As if the entire box was powered off/on, but without waiting for the OS to restart (so I guess what I am asking is it possible to cause XBMC to shut itself off at suspend and turn itself back on at wake?) Just an idea to help with the whole set-top-box feel.

The way you asked was a bit confusing but I think we may have the same goal. No solution yet but I'll post if I figure it out. LINK
