Acer Revo - XP vs Ubuntu - Beta Drivers

A question for the experts...

Everyones seems to say...
Its better to run Ubuntu/Linux on this (rather than Windows xp/win7) for XBMC on the Acer Revo... due to the lack of Hardware acceleration... i.e. Slow/Stuttering running HD content.Oo

Now that...
Nvidia are releasing new (beta) drivers 1.95 for the ION.
And Adobe releasing new (beta) Flash player 10.1

Does this mean it's now doesnt matter which OS you use?? Win or LinuxRolleyes

(I would like to run a super stripped down version of XP, but been spending alot of time faffing round with Ubuntu... any comments welcome)Shocked

Thanks

Current Windows builds don't have hardware acceleration for playing video so 1080p won't be playable on the Revo. New video drivers won't change this. To play 1080p videos you need to use the Linux version.

For windows you will have to use an external player like MP-HC or use the new test build by Tiben : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=61355
