I whipped up a mockup using textures made from scratch, still a bit rough around the edges.

Edit: before anyone mentions it, I'm aware some of the items in the mockup aren't part of xbmc (yet).

looks pretty good.
Don't know why, but for my part I think that frontrow looks much nicer than apple tv, but I'm not sure if a clone of the frontrow skin is already discussed somewhere.
However, keep up the nice work. If this get's published I will probably use it.

A skin suggestion. I'm not sure how many people besides me use this feature, Confluence's ability to go directly to a longish list of "most recently added" episodes from the home page is a pretty killer feature for me. The AppleTV layout seems like a no-brainer to do something similar.

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

I may have the 10 most recently added at the top of the screen with ta cover flow effect. add under the sub menus have a section that takes you to a list or wall layout for recently added. i hope to use the apple tv "buy screen" as the media view with covers down the bottom that you can scroll through.

basically this skin will match the apple tv skin minus the stuff that will substitute features that xbmc doesn't support. any ideas are welcome!

You could borrow images from Pear-o-dy for MythTV:

We are currently working on the home screen cover flow (proving a bit of a challenge due to the focused movie cover not always being the center image.)

will hopefully have an alpha out sometime in February (i say hopefully)

do let either myself or eumel know of anything you want added etc.

Just thought I would update people on our progress with this skin, Things are going well yet a few running into a few problems with achieving a few ATV animations and effects. particularly the cover-flow it the top of the screen (If you watch a video of its movements and how its navigated, you will understand the trouble) and the music full screen playing window (the rotating of the info every 180° and the transitions for next song and previous song).

Here are a few teaser images of our current progress...

PS:A short teaser video will follow once things get a bit polished Wink
