.. see the subject. Couldn't figure in out just browsing the SVN. There is a whole bunch of various tags - not sure which is the correct one. Is there some particular thread or way to know what SVN release corresponds to which 'official' tag? (beta, RCs, final release, etc)?

It will have the revision number in System Info.

You can find it by browsing http://trac.xbmc.org/log/tags

Camelot Beta 1 was tagged at r24886.
