HDMI Audio Problems
#1
Hi

I'm running the following system

 1. XBMC 9.11 Beta1
 2. Windows XP Professional SP3
 3. Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz
 4. 4GB (Windows has 2.99GB using Physical Address Extension)
 5. nVIDIA 9600M GT 512MB running 195.62
 6. nVIDIA High Definition Audio running 1.0.0.51

I'm connecting my the HDMI out of my laptop (Acer 5930G) to the HDMI input of my A/V receiver (Pioneer VSX-21TXH). HDMI out of my A/V receiver is connected to the HDMI input of my plasma.

The problem

I use the nVIDIA Control Panel and set my A/V receiver as my display.

I then go to the Windows Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices and set the NVIDIA High Definition Audio as my default device for Sound playback, and Voice playback

Start XBMC

XBMC Audio settings are as follows
Audio Output: Digital
Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver: ON
DTS capable receiver: ON
Audio output device: NVIDIA High Definition Audio
Downmix multichannel audio to stereo: OFF

Navigating the XBMC menus I get to hear the sound

Playing a DVD results in jibberish sound (artifacts, on/off sound, weird behaviour) from my 5.1 speakers.
Now, if I set the Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver and DTS capable receiver options to OFF, I can hear the sound normally, but of course the A/V Receiver displays PCM as the input signal.

I've tried several DVDs and I get the same problem. I've also tried all possible surround sound options in my A/V receiver to no avail.

I'd be very appreciative if someone could help me with the issue, as I'd ideally love to have my A/V receiver do the decoding.

Thanks in advance

Cheers
