Hello all.
I have installed XBMC on my htpc. Latest ubuntu version, latest XBMC version.
XBMC was downloaded from repository.
It's worth mentioning that i'm pretty unexperienced with Linux.
I have no problem playing videos, with sound, using the optical output from the HTPC. My amplifier did report Dolby digital, sound was nice and crisp, but i'm not sure if i had any surround. that i have to investigate.
Now, what does not work is audio when playing music. If i insert a cd, no audio. If i try to play ripped stuff from my HDD, no audio. Even if it looks like XBMC is actually playing.
I have tried different settings, and even hooked up analog audio cable, but nothing.
Could someone please point me in the right direction here?
If i attempt to play cd's, or audio files, directly form ubuntu desktop. everything works flawlessly.
