Noob question. Best Way to update SVN on Windows 7?
#1
Hey guys,

I've got a custom HTPC running Windows 7.

I haven't updated XBMC in a few months and I think it's about time. Big Grin

I know that on Windows 7, XBMC installs itself not only into my Program Files, but in my user account folder.

What's the most EASIEST way to update the SVN whilst still retaining my settings/library config/etc?

Thanks for any help. Wink

You can download self-install packages of the latest builds here: http://sshcs.com/xbmc/

All your library data and whatnot are kept separate from program data it will be preserved.

So I wouldn't need to manually back up or do anything special before I run the .exe?

Well it certainly doesn't hurt to backup before you do anything like this... but no you don't *need* to.

I'm not seeing why you wouldn't run the current beta of 9.11 (9.11 beta2). It's remarkably current as it was built within the last couple of days.

SVN builds should only be required for normal users well after a release when something like a skin you want requires it, or a feature was put in you need.
