Retrieved fanart is inaccurate
#1
I'm running XBMC 9.11, and recently, ll the fanart has been wildly inaccurate. I'm using IMDB as my main scraper, but XBMC scrapes themoviedb for fanart. When I choose an image to be fanart for a movie, it'll download and display a completely different one -- it's as though the previewed fanart isn't even on the server. Also, I get many fewer choices for fanart than I did a few weeks ago. I get this problem regardless of which skin I use.

Is there a cache I can clear or something?

I'm experiencing this issue as well using the latest beta and Confluence. The listed fanarts never seem to be the total available at themoviedb, and whichever thumbnail I choose, I get a different image. My scraper is set to themoviedb.

Same here using beta2.

Also, it's not like the thumbnails are just ordered incorrectly -- the preview thumbnails just don't exist as actual fanart whatsoever.

I'll post a debug log once I get home, I'm just surprised no one's solved -- or reported -- this one yet, as far as I could tell.

Neg, seems like a different problem. I'm on Ubuntu 9.10.

I think this is generally where the problem is. I tried to download different fanart for Apollo 13.

Looks to me that it's downloading this:

http://images.themoviedb.org/backdrops/6...112384.jpg

Which one did you select, and it'd be nice if you could do a debug log while refreshing the show.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Thanks!

And yep, that's exactly the fanart it's downloading and displaying. The problem is, the fanart the thumbnail previews is this one: http://images.themoviedb.org/backdrops/8...0x1080.jpg

Some movies, like Gandhi, don't find any fanart available for download at all, even though at least one image should be available: http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/783

Here's the debug log for refreshing Apollo 13's info: http://pastebin.com/m74312062

Thanks for your help!

Code:
<details><fanart><thumb preview="http://images.themoviedb.org/backdrops/8744/Apollo_13_1920x1080_poster.jpg">http://images.themoviedb.org/backdrops/6839/tt0112384.jpg</thumb></fanart></details>

EDIT: Looks like a problem with the scraper first and foremost, though I'm not sure why - I suspect it's taking something greedy in some place when it shouldn't be, though everything is specified non-greedy.

It can certainly be made more resilient - will see what we can do.

Cheers,
Jonathan
