Hi Guys,
Thanks to the info on this forum I have been able to get my audio working on jaunty with my Radeon 4550. However I still have one problem I have been unable to resolve.
I resolved my lack of audio by running aplay -l which gives me this
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: ICH6 [Intel ICH6], device 0: Intel ICH [Intel ICH6]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: ICH6 [Intel ICH6], device 4: Intel ICH - IEC958 [Intel ICH6 - IEC958]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: HDMI [HDA ATI HDMI], device 3: ATI HDMI [ATI HDMI]
Subdevices: 0/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
This led me to set up XBMC like this
Firstly I cant really understand why the ATI device is not displayed in the audio output device list but no big issue as I can just use the custom mode.
But here's the thing, when I restart the ATI HDMI device often changes to card 0 and then back to card 1 at other times which means I load up XBMC, discover sound doesn't work, come back out run aplay-l. check which device it is and enter it back into XBMC to get the sound back.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks
