Hello,
I have tried to compile a 2.6.31-16-generic kernel with rootnfs support for 4 days but cant get it done, I always end up with a 2.6.31.4 kernel and the terminal after boot, I get this message: "FEH.py: cannot connect to X server". I used this howto: http://wiki.ubuntu-forum.de/index.php/Kernel_bauen . And in the end it builds a kernel deb file, which doesnt work. Would someone please compile this kernel deb for me, so it works with 9.11? Maybe someone who helped to built the live cd?
