Hacking the Boxee Box to run XBMC?
either set him to ignore or report his postings to admins. I'm completely out of patience on that guy.

No you didn't, you liar. Angry:mad: You've been involved since early in this long thread and you know damn well what the answer was/is.

Now you're just pushing people's buttons for the sake of pushing, and yes, you pushed mine!Sad

Bag ass... You seem pretty dedicated to the project, however you seem to be encountering a major language barrier. If you would like, please hit me up. I am on MSN or windows messenger with my username here in this forum. Not gonna type it here... My username @hotmail.com

Please contact me and maybe we can get something worked out and properly documented for reproduction by others. If you understand computer and networking terms then we can make this work.

I cant wait til either someone gets XBMC on this thing, or Boxee realizes consumers want easy access to online content, but also want the same for local content, this is the only thing keepin me from snatching one of these up

I'm really surprised at the negativity in this thread. Instead of helping people or trying to work together towards a solution you are all just saying it can't be done... That just discourages someone else from trying a method you haven't thought of yet.

This can be done and I'm sure it will as soon as you get off your high horses and work on it. If you aren't developing code, and you don't own a bbox, keep your white night moderation crap to yourself!

Examples? I haven't seen anyone say it can't be done, and certainly haven't seen "us all" saying it.

I've seen a lot of "don't expect the xbmc team to do it time soon" - which is an accurate statement and one that certainly belongs, especially on the xbmc forum itself.

Or you could get off yours and work on it ...

I think most of the negativity has been towards people who don't own a bbox, are floating ideas that demonstrate a lack of knowledge and understanding of fundamental requirements that could have been gathered with even an ounce of research of their own, and who refuse to listen to or acknowledge facts and advice given by, in some instances, xbmc developers themselves.

If anything, the fact that this thread even remains open after all the foolishness is a testament to the fact that this place encourages the free exchange of ideas. The only thing that's being discouraged is behavior that quite frankly turns everyone off, and likely discourages those that do have useful insight from participating in the discussion.

It would be awesome if someone can get XBMC on Boxee Box. I am a long time XBMC user (on original Xbox). I was very much looking forward for Boxee Box to get me the upgrade to HD contents. But from the reviews, it seems like Boxee/D-link screwed the pooch.

The only thing Boxee has over XBMC is the dedicated hardware & internet content. XBMC is still much better IMO with local contents. Boxee's implementation of online content access is pretty poorly done, and that is when it does work. So if we can get XBMC to run on Boxee Box, that is pretty much the perfect solution for me...
