Seg fault with ATI drivers.
#1
I recently purchased an ATI 5770 (yes I know nvidia is better for linux) and I get a seg fault when I try to launch XBMC 9.11 RC1. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I've had the problem with Beta 1 and 2 also older ATI drivers 9.11. XBMC will launch if I do a fresh install without any ATI related video drivers (vesa I guess?). Also using envyng which does not support the card currently produces the same result. I noticed this at the end of the back trace:

#0 0xb6e316a0 in ?? () from /usr/lib/dri/fglrx_dri.so
Cannot access memory at address 0x94

I tried the card in Windows with NFS:Shift at 1920x1080 4xAA and did not notice any issues with the card.

I've attached information below. You may notice audio errors because alsa is not yet properly configured.

Linux Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10 i386 (kernel 2.6.31-16-generic)

Video Driver: ATI Proprietary V9.11 or 9.12

Install Method: PPA

SVN Revision: xbmc 9.11B1 to RC1

Debug Log: http://pastebin.ca/1722038

Backtrace: http://pastebin.ca/1722045

Specs: Intel DG45ID, Intel Core2Duo E8400, 4 GB RAM, ATI RadeonHD 5770 1GB Ram.

Thanks!

*UPDATE*

I tested with 9.11 final from ppa and had the same issue. I also tried the 9.11 live cd and it also does the same thing.

Everything works fine in Win 7. Could this be an issue with the ati proprietary Linux driver and the newer card?
