For the life of me, I am unable to map my standard media player remote to Harmony 680 Universal remote in order to navigate XMBC.

I tried to follow the instructions here:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...hlight=680

...But i failed miserably: where is MCE Keyboard on Harmony Centre? How do I map the keys? Very frustrating...Any help would be welcome!

I'm banging my head with the same problem. When I pick the remote on the set up it programs for it... but it won't do anything when I have it selected.

Seems like you need to bring up XBMC in test mode and find out what the commands are from there. You can then use that to program your Harmony remote.... if I figure out how to program my remote... I will explain in great detail.

I've been using XBMC on xboxs for years... this Acer endeavor is a new adventure... and I promise.... even without the fancy Harmony remote, it is 100% worth it.

Everyone drops their jaw at my home entertainment center.

Is this test mode a few people have been talking about

<displayremotecodes>

if so that is XBOX only.

I'm using a Harmony 680 successfully with XBMC. I set it up on the members.harmonyremote.com page as a Microsoft Media Center PC (Windows Media Center). It worked great with the default setup.

I've the same issue as mentioned above. I'm using a cyberlink IR receiver with a logitech 555 remote. I can launch Windows MCE, and can control cyberlink playback with the logitech but that's it.

http://www.bevhoward.com/Misc/IR/Harmony...html#Media Explains how to configure your harmony as a MCE Keyboard. But it only works if the receiver can understand the commands you are sending it (ie it must be either a microsoft receiver or MS compatible).

I don't believe mine is as I've set5 up three different variations of the Keyboard and my media centre does not respond. So I think the only option is to try and learn/understand EventGhost and program commands using that.

Or buy a MS compatible one from china (Ebay)...
