Accessing SMB shares breaks skin switching
#1
Hi there,

I'm having a weird problem since upgrading to 9.11.

Switching skins works OK at first, but as soon as I access a SMB share on my network, switching skins is broken and remains so until I restart XBMC: switching to *any* skin (including default) via the Settings/Appearance menu shows every item grayed out with a "Incompatible skin. We require skins of 2.10 or higher" message.

I double-checked that there's nothing wrong with skin.xml or the paths to the skins (and even if there was, I suppose Confluence should still work).

This is 100% reproducible on my system:

- start XBMC
- go to Settings, Appearance: skin switching works
- access a SMB share through Videos, Music or Pictures
- go to Settings, Appearance: skin switching is broken
- quit and restart XBMC
- go to Settings, Appearance: skin switching works again

Accessing and playing media through SMB shares works fine, it's just that it breaks skin switching.

I believe the problem appeared after upgrading from RC1 to 9.11 final. I uninstalled XBMC completely and did a fresh install, to no avail.

This is on Ubuntu Karmic 32-bit. The SMB shares are on a Windows 7 box and a NAS running Linux (both break skin switching, so it's not a Windows issue).

Ideas anyone? Should I report a bug?
