art76 Wrote:Just wanted to say thanks for making this awesome skin!

Just switched from my trusty xbox xbmc to a winbox xbmc to run HD content and then installed this skin and whoa.. unbelievable. Layout is clean, easy to navigate, lots of customisations just really well thought out and executed.

I want to invite all my friends over to show off Big Grin but also don't as don't want them to ask me to make a system up for them too.. No

Anyway, great job and can't wait to see what v4 will bring to the table.

Thank you for your compliments. Big Grin

If it is a matter of voting:

Scarfa, there is no doubt in my mind that Rapier is the best XBMC skin out there. Thanks so much for it. I really hope you will release a new version for Dharma!

I've got the 3.06 skin working by installing it manually but it probably has some bugs.

Ubuntu 10.10:
I downloaded the skin and extracted it.

After extracting you get the folder named "Rapier".
Rename the folder to skin.rapier (lowercase) and copy it to the skin folder "~/.xbmc/addons/"
for other operating systems check the wiki "Installing Skins" replace the directory name "skin" with "addons".

After you copied the folder to it's location change the file inside from "skin.xml' to "addon.xml"

Open the addon.xml with a text editor and replace the text with the following:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<addon
  id="skin.rapier"
  version="3.06"
  name="Rapier"
  provider-name="Developed by Scarfa">
  <requires>
  </requires>
  <extension
    point="xbmc.gui.skin"
    defaultresolution="720p"
    defaultresolutionwide="720p"
    defaultthemename="textures.xbt"
    effectslowdown="0.75"
    debugging="false"/>
<extension
    point="xbmc.gui.skin"
    defaultresolution="720p"
    defaultresolutionwide="720p"
    defaultthemename="Textures.xbt"
    effectslowdown="1.0"
    debugging="false"/>
  <extension point="xbmc.addon.metadata">
    <summary>A skin for XBMC designed by Scarfa.</summary>
    <description>Rapier - The goal is to provide a simple but elegant interface that emphasizes efficiency when browsing your media. Important considerations are put on usability, performance, and providing the user with flexibility when it comes to customization. Rapier supports the latest XBMC features and new ones will be added in the future as long as it fits in with Rapier’s design goals.</description>

  </extension>
</addon>

It's not pretty but at least i'm able to use this great skin again.

I haven't left, still kicking around Smile

It isn't just a mere port to Dharma, the changes are pretty extensive. Just check back every once in awhile, you might get a surprise. Nod
