I'm running a fresh install of Hardy 8.04 via the netboot method on my AppleTV with a working CrystalHD card and r26347.
If I play a WMV file without using CrystalHD as the decoder, I get perfect audio (although only 2.0, not 5.1) and slightly laggy / juttery video.
As soon as I use CrystalHD as the decoder, I still get perfect audio (still 2.0) but I get NO video whatsoever. Sometimes I get a blank screen with the OSD telling me that the video is constantly pausing/playing/pausing/playing etc, othertimes it just keeps a static image of the screen from when I started the movie (library mode view).
Here's the logs:
MediaInfo on one of the files: http://pastebin.com/m12e015e9
xbmc.log when trying to play the file above: http://pastebin.com/m397c89f
I can include mediainfo/xbmc.log when playing other files, but it seems to be the same on either 720 or 1080 WMVs.
I should also mention its the same if I try to stream it via a SMB share on a wired 100mb connection or if the file is on the AppleTV hard drive.
Cheers,
Jason.
And spiff, if you pop your head into this thread, yes, I should get different files instead of proprietary formats
