[LIVE] XBMC unresponsive hangs when idle for a while
Is this cured in Eden? I have this with dharma on a Revo 3700.

This is the only bug I have! It works perfect except for this! Sad

Well Eden live will be quite different as it's based on Ubuntu (see xbmcfreak site) - so I imagine this will be gone, and again easy workarounds via autofs etc. should be available.

Or you could use Openelec...
Addons I wrote &/or maintain:

Sorry, no help w/out a *full debug log*.

Or even better, the much faster NFS option....

Hello, my first post here.

I've been using XBMC for a few months (both Dharma and Eden beta - installed via PPA) on my AsRock 330 ION (4GB ram) with Ubuntu Maverick 32bit.

I seem to be suffering from this problem as well, but with no network shares at all. All media is local.
Besides my 60GB SSD which holds the system, I have two 2TB drives on SATA bus for media (all formatted as ext4).

Playback is great, 1080p plays with no stutters or tearing (after turning off compositing in xorg.conf), but it freezes on the main menu when idle for about 15 minutes.

After the freeze I can still connect via SSH to the machine (can't connect to x0vncserver though), and only rebooting helps (not even 'killall -9').
Background processes are not affected, everything runs as it should (mythtv-backend recording, sabnzbd downloads, etc...)

Any ideas?

So this problem is closely related to the Asrock ION 330? Can anyone explain why?

Ever since I switched to a MySQL Database (with afp: paths) XBMC has been crashing a lot (AFP is idle. Closing the remaining connections). You say this can be solved by removing XBMC based mounting. Can anyone explain to me how I can do this while letting my ATV2 connect to the MySQL database on my Ubuntu box?
