[LINUX] Unable to play VCD
#1
Hi,

I have only started using XBMC but so far I am very pleased with it. It's just fantastic. I use Ubuntu 9.10 and XBMC PPA in standalone mode. So far everything works like a charm besides VCD playback. I have a bunch of paper adds VCDs for my kids with cartoons so this is a major issue for me Smile

I have tried debug mode and the log file says something like this when I insert VCD disc:
Code:

I am not sure what it means but the conclusion is that I am not able to just hit the play button and watch the freakin VCD.

Any help greatly appreciated Smile

EDIT: I would like to mention that the VCD in question works OK in other media players on this Ubuntu installation.

Did you find a solution?
I have an ASRock ION (Ubuntu 9.10), and some of the DVDs give the same log message as you gave: "WARNING: Filesystem is not supported".

And as you say, I can with no problem play the DVD with e.g. Totem Movie Player on Ubuntu.

iirc vcd's support was only ever included on the xbox platform using mplayer.

dvd problem is likely to be unrelated unless you have old formatted dvd structure - open another thread with full debug info.

So do you mean that VCD is not supported on xbmc at all? I am not using xbox, BTW. I have just a normal PC which is being used as a media center.
