View pictures and movies like in Picasa?

I would very much like to see pictures and movies being handled automatically when pressing next. I hate that you have to leave slideshow-mode just to show the next file which might be a movie. Why can't XBMC just detect that the next file is a movie-clip and then mplay that and then go back to picture browsing afterwards?

Picasa do this very well, as it mixes movies and pictures. You can even rotate movies, and I think XBMC could as well.

I have dozens of folders from moments with my family that I want to share using XBMC on my LED screen, and it is now very nice if somebody could program this.

A patch to do this would be welcome.
