Watching some mkv series episodes (Fringe as it happens).
Sometimes during the episodes there are adverts for other shows that pop up towards the bottom of the screen ("coming next" that sort of thing).
Strangely enough when these adverts pop up, they cause a second or two of stuttering / framerate hitching.
Was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this? Is it most likely down to the encoding of the file itself, or something else?
Bitrate change causing stuttering?

Not experienced it, but could be down the bad encoding. Could be pts discontinuity depending on how they have chopped them out. Or something unrelated.

Its not the chopping out of adverts breaks etc - I mean the onscreen adverts for other shows that appear at the bottom of the screen. When those "overlays" pop up, I get some minor juddering. |
