any feedback so far on how reliable the install and going back to 9.11 is ?

I assumme the library doesnt get deleted - how about skins, settings, skripts ?

Is there any good place to see the major new features of the nightly builds compared to 9.11 ?

thanks

Those are svn releases which provide a good snapshot where development is heading / currently is. That definitely includes bugs and other annoying things.
Best way to know what new features those builds *might* provide is to watch the timeline.
I'd say don't update unless you can/want to provide proper feedback.

Dude , wake up !

Check : http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/osx/

The svn's aren't pushed to the mirror site since march 1st.

Maybe someone should check it out... Eager to upgrade again and test ! Laugh

I feel offended....No
Sad

Though I think the merge is the reason to prevent these kind of not-knowings.....

Bla bla, read the whole thread here, or at least the post you quoted

steve1977 was asked for the console.log that would show what the reason is for failed nightly install. nothing to do with when the last build has been posted on http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/osx/

as for you feeling offended, life is a bitch. you asked for it.

Hmm....

Seems like I really am not paying attention enough.

Been away for some time, and all my favorites point directly to the AppleTV specific forum. Nowhere here did I read anything about the merge. So yeah, I really asked for it.

(Couldn't care less Amet, Big Grin)

Keep on looking forward to the 'other side'....

Good luck all..!

Today i activated the "multifinder" option to get XBMC to autostart..
Then finder restarts and i get black screen and NO response..

I have to SSH in and do a ..

"cd /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Plugins/XBMCLauncher.frappliance/Contents/Resources/
sudo ./setMultiFinderMode.sh OFF"

Using latest Launcher version 3.2.4

This needs some more information.
Did you download XBMC before activating MultiFinder?
Did xbmc launch? (Check xbmc.log)
Anything in console.log?

I haven't tested MultiFinder for quite a while now. There might be issues with it...

Yes, I used a earlier version of Launcher with XBMC installed and then Multifinder worked. After upgrading to newest version of Launcher (2.3.4) i stopped working.

No, XBMC didnt launch. No entries in xbmc.log
console.log is empty

Downgraded to Launcher-3.2.1-debug.run1 but this doesnt work either.. weird!

MultiFinder (the app that starts xbmc on launch) still uses the old application paths in /Applications instead of the new in ~/Applications.
Quick fix is to symlink XBMC.app to /Applications like this:
Code:
ln -s ~/Applications/XBMC.app /Applications/

Will update Launcher in the next days to fix this...

Thanks again for the hint.

EDIT:
hm, actually the installer symlinks it already.
In my case the symlink wasn't there as I just upgraded my ATV and re-patchsticked it, so the /Applications/XBMC.app symlink was missing. Reinstalling XBMC fixes this though.

I believe that I have found a bug with Launcher 3.2.4.

I have written a script to auto mount a couple of afp:// drives. If I put the script into the My Scripts folder it executes fine. If I copy the script to the scripts folder and rename it autoexec.py it works fine if I manually launch it. But if I enable the multifinder and toggle it to autolaunch XMBC the autoexec.py does not get executed.

Has anyone got any ideas on this one its driving me nuts.
