When I started using my wireless Xbox controller to control XBMC on Windows XP, I found the deadzone not to be working. The <controllerdeadzone> setting in advancedsettings.xml was not working either. I discussed the issue on the forum (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=66645),. It turned out to be a known bug at multiple platforms.
I submitted a patch at http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/8536
The patch should fix the controller deadzone, including incorporation of the <controllerdeadzone> setting in advancedsettings.xml. I have tested it on WinXP with the wireless Xbox 360 controller, but it should also fix this long standing bug: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/4327
The patch also addresses a few other issues that I found in the joystick code.
I'm new to this all, so feedback is greatly appreciated.
