[LIVE] Resolution troubles
#1
Hi guys,

I have my Acer AspireRevo 1600 (running XBMC Live 9.04.1) hooked up to my receiver via HDMI, but I'm not getting video passed through to my TV.

The user manual for the receiver says it can only pass 720p, 1080p and 1080i.

When I plug the Acer directly into the TV via HDMI, it says the resolution is 768p - 60Hz, so I think this might be the problem the receiver is having.

I tried changing the resolution from SETTINGS > APPEARANCE > SCREEN to 720p, and I can see the resolution change, but the TV still says it's getting 768p resolution. The output resolution won't change.

I've seen in other posts that the problem might lie within my xorg.conf file, but I'm a Linux newbie and could really use some help.

Thanks for the responses!

Saw this in another post:

"Sounds like your receiver is doing something stupid to the EDID info. Does it work over HDMI directly to the TV? If so there are some EDID options you can pass to the nvidia driver that might help."

Can anyone help? ANY responses would be appreciated!
