Hangup on actions after idle
#1
I'm currently using the SVN verions of XBMC but i'w had this problem since before i started using the SVN, kinda switched to the SVN to try to get rith of this problem cus it's really annoying.

What happens is that if i let XBMC just run for a day without using it and switch over to the xbmc source on the TV to watch a movie, that dimmed down "screen saver" fades off and i'm able to browse arround as usual but as soon as i pick a movie/episode to watch it hangs, I have to restart kdm just to start it again, and even if i try to shut XBMC down before i watch the movie/episod it hangs on that action instead.
I kinda have a routine to shut XBMC off each time but it's still annoying.

I'm not sure where logs are placed and if there is a way to run it in debug...not sure what kind of info you guys need to help me troubleshoot? I was kinda hoping you already knew about it and knew what was causing it Smile

The log
The only way i could think to reproduce the problem was to start it, and not touch it for 2 days (2 days isn't needed but i wanted to be sure)

anyway....gave it a try just now to see what would happen, started an ep and it hung as usual... SSHed in and killed it to see if the terminal had any usefull info, this is what was in the terminal:
Code:
$ xbmc
Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/local/bin/xbmc: line 88:  5892 Killed                  /usr/local/share/xbmc/xbmc.bin "$@"

And then i too a look in the log...i was amazed on how big it was for just 2 days.

it started with 85000ish lines with this:
Code:
01:20:06 T:3079083888 M:324575232   DEBUG: OnKey: 389284 pressed, action is 0

followed with 1000 lines of this:
Code:

and at the end there was some info from when i gave it a try to start something:
(to big to post here imo)
http://pastebin.com/f4fbb4b11

and the full log is located here, it's 7mb so i cant really paste it in pastebin:
http://kieeps.com/~rt/xbmc.log

and thats all the info i could think of... but if you need more just tell me how to give it to you Smile

Just want to chime in and say that I too have the same problem. I am using the SVN repository on older hardware with an nVidia 8400 graphics card. Works fine while I am watching stuff. Just happens when xmbc has idled for a while. My log file is very much like Kieeps.
