In a single-HD scenario, I would think you would be fine.
I'm with you...
No way 65watts will service enough power.. I have built over 100 HTPCs and I do custom work including mini monitors and video switchers and mixers and all kinds of add ons that clients want..
In all cases its spend it or save until you can.
The best cases I use are all thermaltake or Symphony or similar, dual core 2 gig or better IBM, 2 gigs minimum of ram and twin 1.5 t sata drives, Blue ray drive and windows XP pro tweaked to the roof. Only the absolutely necesary software and auto loading either XBMC again tweaked. Windows startup stripped with priority to the media software, remote support and wireless keyboard and mouse but priority to the remote. I add switchers for multiple inputs feeding an internal USB converter or the TV card if requested. The fun is always retro fitting the device to the case internally.
