Low / quiet center channel volume 5.1
#1
Camelot, Karmic, PPAs, latest updates as of 1.23.10. I have "analog 5.1 audio" selected in the Gnome audio preferences and "analog 5.1 device" selected in XBMC.

When playing movies or videos with 5.1 audio, the center channel is very, very quiet - my estimation would be about 10% the total volume. Alsa-mixer sees all my channels and I have them all set at the same volume, about 96%.
If I choose to "downmix multi channels to stereo" in XBMC, I can hear the center audio just fine, but then I loose the 5.1...

If I exit XBMC and play the same video in VLC - all channels are at the correct volume. This only became an issue after upgrading to Karmic / Camelot. Prior to that, when sound was fine, I was on many versions over the years, the latest being Jaunty / SVN.

Anyone else experiencing this?
