playing file resets XBMC audio level
#1
I installed some updates this morning which I have not done for a while, I am running XBMC on ubuntu karmic.

Everytime I play a file it resets the alsa plugin xbmc volume slider to about 25%, as soon as I stop the file playing it returns to whatever it was set to before. The only way I can get a reasonable volume level is to start the file playing and then move the slider back up which is incredibly strange.

I am playing audio through HDMI. Has anyone else had this issue since updating?

aha I have noticed that the volume slider name changes from "alsa plugin xbmc" to just "xbmc", so maybe this is a different slider. Still the problem of it resetting every time remains.

got it, I set the audio settings inside XBMC from the audio settings. This gets reset everytime you play a new file unless you select "set as default for all movies"
