Tearing issue with new install
#1
Hi I'm fairly new to Linux and XBMC so bear with me!

I'm having tearing problems when playing any videos. I have tried 2 different monitors so I don't think that could be the issue.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and I have a Nvidia GeFore GT 220. I have 'messed' around with a lot of the settings in XBMC and have so far not been able to stop the tearing.

Any help would be appreciated. Please ask if you need more information about my set up etc.

Thanks

Try disabling Visual Effects in Gnome. That got rid of my screen tearing.

System --> Preferences --> Appearance --> Visual Effects --> None

Thank you very much!!!! I've been dreading having to go down the xorg.conf route trying to figure things out that way but this simple instruction has fixed it!!!

Now onto getting my logitech remote working!!

Thanks again
