[RELEASE] RAI TV (Video) Plugin - Italian Television

This plugin scrapes the http://www.rai.tv site. It supports live tv channels and a very wide choice of videos on demand. It is, of course, mainly intended for the italian audience.

Disclaimers:

http://www.rai.tv offers two types of streams:
1) wmv on mms: and
2) real media on rtsp: and pnm:

Unfortunately DVDPlayer at the moment has problems with rtsp and doesn't even recognize pnm. The plugin warns you if a rtsp stream is requested and doesn't play it. At the moment the only way to play these streams is using an external player (e.g. VLC). You should modify the source, though (simple deletion of some lines, instructions are in the code) and add the external player to playercorefactory.xml.
Luckily, most of the videos use the wmv format and should play fine with DVDPlayer.

The plugin is tested with Dharma and Eden. It should work on Linux, iOs and ATV too, or so I'm told. I don't know if it works outside Italy. Use it at your own risk.

Rai Uno, Due and Tre are missing, because they use smoothstreaming that is not supported by XBMC. Please, don't ask if they will be ever supported because I DON'T KNOW.

Just downloaded and tested it on Ubuntu 9.10 (on Asus Notebook A7Vb) with XBMC 9.11: work perfectly.

I noticed that, with appearently no reason, after a few streams get played XBMC freezes.

The plugin is tested with 9.11 Camelot and Windows only. I can't test it on other systems. I don't know if it works outside Italy. Use it at your own risk. Let me know.

i've testing your plugin into Linux Ubuntu 9.04 + vdr 1.7.9 + XBMC ltest SVn with VDPAU.
The streaming channels works fine all. The podcast....wait for a long time, but it start fine.

Potete per caso fare qualcosa con VCAST che, per chi non lo sa, permette anche la registrazione dei filmati (e visione + canali podcast) da digitale terrestre?
