I have a weird issue with my receiver. When playing music I can hear pops between the songs. It's really scares the hell out me me, so I wonder if it's possible to always output, even when there is a silence or no music playing.

An easy fix would be to just run an empty mp3 looped via some cli audio player, not sure what the proper fix would be.
