I tried to update my revo install to svn with this tutorial

After the sudo apt-get install xbmc line was half way complete the revo rebooted.

Now it boots to xbmc splash with the spinning circle the to a tiny white box in the middle of my lcd.

I can ftp to the box, and also get in through putty. So something is working. Is there anything from these areas that I can do to fix this issue.

The last change I did was an aptitudes update, must be the issue.

Tried an update to see if it would fix any broken files.... grasping at straws. No go. rebooted with error (lirc map something) then after a powerdown it's back to the small white box.

reinstalled..... couldn't stand the questions from my kids any longer.
