Noob question...

I wanted to install ShowMix. I downloaded it to my Mac and then ftped it over to my XBMC Revo. I put it a folder I created called skins in the EMPTY xbmc folder in the home directory. Is this directory supposed to be empty?

If this is correct, how do I load the darn skin? It isn't an option in my skin list.

I tried adding it to the skins directory in usr/share/xbmc, but i can't change the permissions to allow me to do anything.

The folder isn't called "xbmc" it's ".xbmc" (with a dot in front of it).

I do not see "." anything viewing via ftp on OS X.

My question is should the "xbmc" folder in the "home" directory be empty? I thought I could put ShowMix in home/xbmc/skins and it would be available.

There are three folders in the "home" directory: "herb", "xbmc" and "ftp". The files I put in "herb/TV" Shows are accessible.
