after having problems with scripts running slowly, I installed xbmc from a minimal Ubuntu. A rebuild of the kernel allowed me to run scripts just fine, but I could not get LIRC working after that. Now, after a fresh installation from minimal Ubuntu, I'm now having problems getting scripts to even run.
I installed minimal ubunutu
I aptitude installed too much
ended up at GDM desktop
I installed a few more programs
I installed xbmc-live and booted right into it
I set up LIRC
I am now trying to run scripts/plugins
My XBMC Live install did not come with the standard plugins
I put REPO Installer in the plugins/programs dir and added it as a favorite via XML, I tried adding it as a favorite through the gui. I downloaded installer passion script and put it in scripts. I tried the 1.3.1 compatable repo installer. I have not been able to get scripts to work. It's like they just won't execute.
