for example

VC-1 video flag is missing, used on HD-DVDs and some Blu-rays.

DTS Master Audio shows up as DTS, which is not excactly accurate

RM (real media) flags are missing

Please post the exact codec names that do not have a codec image.

To find them you can extract the NFOs and lookup the streamdetails tag in it for the codec name.

As for DTS - Alaska only displays the codec based on the information given by XBMC. As long as XBMC doesn't differentiate between DTS-MA and DTS there is nothing we can do.

Feel free to request the codec images here:

Is the internal meta data extraction of XBMC reporting this or is this imported from a NFO file which was created by an external tool? From the look at the way XBMC reports codecs I don't think "VC-1" is really reported by XBMC itself.

here is raw videodb.xml file viewed in notepad.

and yes, XBMC extracts "vc-1" from files that are encoded with VC-1 codec.
if you rip your own, HD-DVDs and Blu-ray you will come across the codec quite often, if you download MKV files from the web, you will not, since everything on the web is re-encoded to h264
