I need a minimal working config for custom kernel
#1
Hi

I'd like to recompile Linux kernel for my HTPC. I'm not a newbie with respect to linux, programming or compiling in general but linux kernel has way too many options that I don't know about. I can understand options to enable kernel drivers for my PC hardware, but there are many other protocol/software options I'm not familiar with.

Does anybody here compile their own linux kernel for XBMC ? Could you send me a copy of the .config file ?

Thanks a great deal.

http://openelec.git.sourceforge.net/git/...f=projects

here you find some configs in the projects dir. they are minimal as possible but includes some widely used drivers too. also there are some options enabled used (only) by OpenELEC.tv. If you have questions ask me :-)
greetings, Stephan

Thanks. That works beautifully. I made some small adjustments from your generic config and is able to compile a working small custom kernel.
