Finally posted into the wild after we hammered on bugs last week lol... Nice but then again I already said so... Though good quality work like this deserves all the praise and donations it can get IMO.

Don't forget to update the 1st post with version 3.2 with progress bars... Chat to you soon after you watch sum TV...

There's more options to come into this to make it the ppls script of choice.

@andy

Just finished installing using your script - everything works flawlessly.

Most happy about the remote fixes you've done, works every time Wink

Great work Smile

wow this looks like it was made for me...gave up on ubuntu the other week, but this will make me think twice.

So what do i do first? I have an ASrock ION 330HT-BD

1. Format the drive using minimal ubuntu on a cd and then install it? (dont know what minimal ubuntu is, is it a normal Ubuntu OS?)) How do i partition the drive from minimal ubuntu to avoid losing all my files again? or can i partition the disk later when i login to Ubuntu?
2. Then i run the commands you said from terminal and it will set up everything correctly? (xbmc,nvidia drivers,remote, boot into xbmc etc.)

Sorry for the stupid questions but just trying to clarify everything.

Hopefully this will be my last attempt, and hopefully we can all manage to create the simpler guide for all people to use and avoid all the hustle you guys have spent in providing them.

the script only installs the HT CIR driver for you which is equal to extracting the drivers and dpkg -i whatever.deb

the 1.0.4 drivers works on resume by default.

You have some reading issues, which is where your problems start...

My topic I link to this http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=XBMCbuntu

thats minimal ubuntu install means NO GNOME desktop and it mean only terminal work by user. e.g. command line.

you have to run as root or enter sudo before ANY cmd otherwise it wont have right permission and fail.

if during minimal ubuntu you allow root login it creates a password which then it will also prompt you to create a normal user > XBMC

to login after as root the user = root the password is what you set it as. done.

I suggest you read on that as well before you go off and start having issues again.

On my topic theres a link on first post to check HW compatibility between ION platforms.

@andyblac

bugs found, reported via you know where. If I have time I'll edit script and fix what I found bugged.

on sidenote edit your first post the chmod +x scriptname.sh has an extra space in between chmod and +x. just in case ppl have issues with c&p.

Erm, nope.

Resume has never worked properly for me using 1.0.0 or 1.0.4

Andy mentioned that there was some problem with XBMCFreaks release and resume working.

This release rocks da house! Nod
