Hi there. I would like anybody to recommend me a small receiver. The receivers I've seen are so f**** large! I can't say I need a large item in my living room when all I need is just 5.1 sound. However I do not want to settle for any Logitech stuff and similar.

My requirements:
- It needs to support 5.1 sound
- It can run my 140W 90dB speakers (for left and right), and of course extra speakers
- It needs to support Digital Optical In/Out

That's it. I don't really need HDMI and such since I only use XBMC on my speakers.

It is not going to be easy to find a "small" receiver that can handle your requirements.

However here's an interesting one for you

Marantz NR1501. The challenge is your 140W 90db speakers. If you can live with 50 watts per a channel. This might be exactly what you are looking for. Only catch I see so far is not much of a set up OSD to speak of. (not GUI)

Perhaps a browse at AVforums would be helpful. I would be curious as to what you research and buy.
