[MOD] Unicode Font
#1
Rainbow
In the zip file provided are 2 fonts for confluence that support full unicode (japanese, chinese, russian)

The first was made by s7mx1, merging both the DejaVuSans.ttf and DroidSansFallback.ttf to achieve the unicode file included
(named in the zipfile: DejaVuSans.ttf)

The Second was created by myself, using the advise from Jezz and http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/6397
I merged DejaVuSans-Bold.ttf and and DroidSansFallback.ttf
I purposely named it DejaVuSans-Bold.ttf in the zipfile.

Please if you have any helpful tips i could use to make the font i worked on better, please tell me.

to install just navigate to where confluence is installed (C:\Program Files\XBMC\skin) and replace the fonts in the fonts folder.

Can you share your experience how to merge DroidSansFallback and another unicode file? Thanks

I use FontForge. First you set your first font (Primary). then you take a full unicode secondary font that at minimum resembles (or is from a similar style to the primary) you then have to adjust the size of the secondary so that it matches the primaries sizes. You have now created your font.

I posted a quick tutorial here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=55408

BTW isamu.dragon, I'm not sure if you followed this guide or figured it out on your own, but with my way, although it was good enough, I ended up with the unicode characters with an offset and in some cases unicode characters step on unicode characters on other lines. See image 4 in my post for an example.

Did you have the same problem?
