Didn't mean the fanart but fanart slideshow when listening to music Wink
Haven't found an api for it through http. Maybe when we switch to JSRON.

Aww, okay. I see, yes. As far as I know that's T! specific.

Uhm, so what is JSRON?

So I guess there's no way to fix this issue except expanding the http api, which will probably never happen...

that's quite a disappointment I must say... *sigh* Sad

@stokedfish: JSON is the stuff that will replace HTTP API in the next stable release of XBMC.

StarChild, thanks for that info. So will I have to put a feature request for this in the bug tracker or is it already planned for JSRON anyway?

Okay, cool. That's great! I still don't understand why it is so hard to display the fanart though. I mean, "go up one directory and use fanart.jpg for wallpaper/background" or "search for fanart.jpg in the artist folder and use the file for wallpaper/background" can't be that hard to add, no?

It's hard to understand the problem from a simple user point of view... :\

Edit: Also, I just saw this in the changelog:

Quote:Added: Basic integration for XBMC's shiny new JSON-RPC interface. Looking good but still a lot missing. Deactivated by default.

So maybe it's already implemented? Yes? No? How to test it?

ronie Wrote:the problem with starting a song from the recently added on the home screen is that xbmc doesn't set the MusicPlayer.Property(Fanart_Image) label.
There is currently no way to set the mentioned property through the httpapi. And i guess it isn't set by the api or xbmc itself. So we simply can't do it.

AFAIK Music playing isn't implemented at all right now. I guess you'll have to wait a little.

aww guys sorry to bitch again but this really kills it for me. 800 music albums and more than 550 artists, each with full hd fanarts, and the remote doesn't support it. is json-rta progressing? any eta maybe? *fingers crossed*
