i don't use the database features myself, but what will happen if i search for a song in the database, try to play it and it is on a protected share?
read the xbmc online-manual, faq and search the forums before posting! do not e-mail the xbmc-team asking for support! read/follow the forum rules! note! team-xbmc never have and never will host or distribute ms-xdk binaries/executables! |

i think the key will be moving the "protection" scheme down to a lower level, so that all file and directory requests are subject to the same interrogation.
no doubt doing stuff via the webserver etc. would also be a way around any protection system. Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. is it possible to protect the settings?
i dont want people messing with them that would deal with the webserver issue too, just turn it off and dont let anyone enter the settings besides you
