also, apparently pressing y (to queue a folder) is an easy way to "crack" the system Tongue

i guess the queueitem() methods aren't using the same dir reading functions.

cheers,
jonathan

i don't use the database features myself, but what will happen if i search for a song in the database, try to play it and it is on a protected share?

i think the key will be moving the "protection" scheme down to a lower level, so that all file and directory requests are subject to the same interrogation.

no doubt doing stuff via the webserver etc. would also be a way around any protection system.

is it possible to protect the settings?
i dont want people messing with them

that would deal with the webserver issue too, just turn it off and dont let anyone enter the settings besides you Tongue

with an evox boot disc you could access any share anyway.

is there any way to stop people getting access via and evox boot disc to c and e drive?
