Command line media manager
#1
After getting fed up with fighting .Net in mono or having to run a Virtual Machine and having it work 50% of the time, I'm looking at starting to develop a completely command line media manager.

Right now my TV "DVR" is near magic. Flexget grabs a nzb. tvnamer renames it, sorts it, deletes the cruft, all on my OpenSolaris, Ubuntu and OS X machines.

So I'm looking at using PHP* with themoviedb.org and the PHP API someone wrote for it.

I rather like the syntax of tvnamer and will probably try to mimic it.

* I really don't see the point in learning a new language just to make something new. So it's either PHP or Matlab, and I don't think many here would see the benefit in using software that is $10,000 a seat to sort their movies.

You should check this out. It's a pretty nice command line (PHP) media manager. Originally intended for Beyond TV and XBMC integration, has started to support more sources and it more generic.

The developer is still active in the thread too... if you want to talk to him
XBMC.MyLibrary (add anything to the library)
ForTheLibrary (Argus TV & XBMC Library PVR Integration)
SageTV & XBMC PVR Integration
