Hello,
I am in the process of getting hardware together for a XBMC set top box connected via LAN to a media server. While I have been working with computers for over 10 years professionally, I have almost no linux experience. Ive played with Ubuntu, SUSE and Fedora a little, but not enough to call myself any bit of an expert.
A friend of mine has a nice mac XBMC setup, with a linux media server and I would like to setup something similar on my own. Ive been debating an XBMC live or an XBMC/EEEBuntu setup. Im looking at basically streaming media over the network, and possibly some youtube/hulu as well. What kind of setup would you recommend? Do i need anything special for the server side?
Thanks for answering some newb questions.
