Hi!
I am running XBMC on an Archlinux install with VPDAU, everything is working like a charm.
That is, except for high definition Interlaced content. I have ripped some nature documentaries as-is using MakeMKV. "Planet Earth" is Progressive and plays without a glitch, even the birds scene is smooth. All other movies I ripped are progressive and play without problems.
"Galapagos" and "Life" however are shown as Interlaced when doing properties in Mplayer on Windows. Media Player Classic plays them without problems, but on the ASRock it opens the file, just plays the audio, and keeps showing the XBMC menu (no video).
Before I had the XBMC Live install on this machine, and I had the same problem, so I suppose it's nothing to do with Archlinux directly.
That leads me to 2 questions:
* Is there a known issue with Interlaced HD content, is it perhaps not supported properly by VDPAU yet?
* If conversion to Progressive would solve the problem, is there a way to do this losslessly and if so, how?
Thanks in advance for the help, and thanks for an awesome product!
Regards
