Different folders for the same TV Serie...
#1
Hi all,

I try to explain my problem.
I'm using XBMC (Rapier skin) on my PC (Win 7).
My problem is that for the same tv series I've both the english and italian version.

So, let's take for example American Dad.
I have 2 different folders on my PC, one is for the english version of the serie, the other for italian version.

The problem is that when I tell XBMC to get info about those folders, he put all the episodes together. The result is that I have 2 version of "01 - Pilot", "02 - Secondone" and so on...

Is there a way to tell XBMC to split those folders in order to have 2 different versions, one for each language?

Thanks for help.

Do you set language in scraper settings?
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.

What do you mean?
When I have to set the "kind of content" I put TV Serie and go for the first one (i don't rememeber what is the name, but it says [MULTI] while the others say ENG).

Why?

No, there's no way to separate them by language (or path) within the library. If you don't want duplicates, only scan one of the folders. And access the other exclusively through files view.

Although I never used multi-lingo TV shows I suspect the only method (if possible at all) to achieve what you want is to set contents separately on the "foreign" tv folders and select a language from scraper settings.

Using Rapier skin I cannot find it. :/

Do separate profiles have their own libraries?

If so, make an English profile and an Italian one.

Scraping in another language may work. Now I'm curious how duplicate show Titles display in the Library if they are scraped using different languages. I think it all depends on if the show's title is different text in the other language. If they both scrape the title as "American Dad", then they will be presented together.

But the idea to use an another profile is even better. The downside is you need to switch profiles as they'll keep different libraries.

Then switch to Confluence meanwhile, Rapier is not a supported skin.

If I got what you mean, i should create 2 different profiles.
One to see the original language stuff (linking to original language folders), the other for my language (linking to my language folders).

Is it right?
Thanks!

I am not saying you should do anything, it is one option of many (if yo do however all the info you need should be in that link).
But in general it means creating two profiles, hiding the login window and switch between the two with a one button toggle.

Don't take it bad, I mean that it is a nice idea and I will try it.
So, consider for a moment that for the same TV Serie (Simpsons for example) I have:
- SD english version
- SD italian version
- HD english version
- HD italian version

I should go for 4 profiles right?
Of course in order not to have any conflict.

I will try. Thanks!

Sorry for bother you again my friend.
I'm going crazy with this.

Band of Brothers.
I've it. Italian version, but I tried with english version too.
I add it, add icons and it seems all ok.
Then I go to SERIE TV and i check it.
It doens't see the episodes.

For all the other stuff it sees it, for Band of Brothers nope.
Don't you know why?

01 - L'inizio.mkv
02 - D-Day.mkv

This is the format of the files.
Going to VIDEO section i can see and play them, going to SERIETV nope.
Thanks.
