[LINUX] HOW-TO get AmbX with X11 working using Boblight and CombustD
Are you using osx or linux on the atv? Because I don't have a machine with osx.

Have just come across boblight, momolight etc and was wondering if any body knows i can get the same effects working on an AppleTV running XBMC ?

i installed the bobligth plugin but i can't start boblight-X11

boblight-constant is working

did i miss something?

You didn't compile boblight with X11 support, the configure script will say what's missing.

thx but i read that Smile i have libx11-dev installed Smile

the dependencies are installed http://code.google.com/p/boblight/wiki/Compiling

Hi! Im getting this error: No protocol specified ERROR: Can't open display :0.0 when i try to run boblight-X11. Before it was: Can't open display (null) and i try this: export DISPLAY=:0.0, but no luck. Can somebody help me with this? My graphics card is Asus Geforce 7600GT. Thanks!

Im am noob with linux so i followed these instructions when i installed xbmc. So im not allways sure what i install to linux Big Grin. Im using Arduiono microcontroller to control my led stripes so i didnt do every step what is in the first post. So maybe i missed something.

Can anyone fill me in on the size of the wallwasher? My TV is mounted on the wall and i'm wondering where to put the wallwasher.

Besides that: I use a 5mtr HDMI cable to get from the HTPC to the TV. Can I use a same size USB cable?

Final one: seems to me only the wallwasher is used, not the side towers. Is that correct?
