Occasional Crashes

Sometimes when I launch XBMC it hangs and will not load, and I have to kill it manually. When this happens it will usually launch fine on the second or third attempt.

This doesn't happen all the time, but has started to occur more often recently.

Looks like it some kind of issue with XBMCHelper - Console gives me the following when it happens:

Code:
4/17/10 2:48:00 PM /Applications/XBMC.app/Contents/MacOS/XBMC[11592] CPSGetCurrentProcess(): This call is deprecated and should not be called anymore.
4/17/10 2:48:00 PM /Applications/XBMC.app/Contents/MacOS/XBMC[11592] CPSSetForegroundOperationState(): This call is deprecated and should not be called anymore.

This is a Mac Mini, running 10.5.8

Does anybody know what the issue might be?

do you have network shares that "go away". There is a bug were if XBMC sees a network share, then that share vanishes, xbmc will try forever to try an connect to it.

Nope, I have iTunes on my desktop Mac, but that's nearly permanently connected to the network. Last reboot was a couple of weeks ago I think. I don't have any other network shares.

Next time it happens I'll get a screenshot.

Sorry to raise this thread again, but this has now started to happen on almost every launch. I have been through my sources and removed every network share, even those which are on 24/7. The only files that are now referenced are on the local machine.

The Console log (above) still reports the same thing every time.

Can anyone see any other reason why this could be happening? I'm stumped.

Which version of xbmc ? You might try a build from nighties at http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/osx/

It's Version 9.11 (SVN-26018)

Thanks for the link, I'll try a nightly.
