i just installed xbmc and i get a white blank screen when play videos. i tried playing with the settings and nothing. i do hear the audio though. what could it be?

It could be you dont know how to search before asking. You are going to need to post a lot more about your system as well.

The white screen usually means your video card doesn't support the DirectX Sharder 2.0 interface that XBMC requires. The options are to use an OpenGL version of XBMC or to buy a new video card.
