[Release] Scripts to Mount / Unmount Truecrypt Files in XMBC
#1
Truecrypt is a program used to encrypt and easily password protect content that you don't want otherwise available to whomever is using your PC. It creates a 'virtual drive' that can be mounted an unmounted whenever you want. This seems to be a reasonable workaround for not having the ability to password protect folders from within XBMC.

I've created two scripts, one to mount a Truecrypt File (.tc) and one to unmount it:

I've only tested these scripts in Windows, and I'm sure they'd have to be slightly updated for use with another OS. In order to use this script, the only thing you'll have to do is place these in your XBMC scripts folder, open up the settings.xml files and change it to the correct file path and drive letter you want truecrypt to mount.

Not right now unfortunately - I'm not familiar enough with how Dharma packages the scripts now to know how to change it. But if anyones up for it, by all means!

OK, I was wrong. It wasn't too hard to update this script.
Truecrypt mount/unmount script is now compatible with Dharma. Use the install by zip file in XBMC.

Thanks so much for creating this! It is a huge help as I'm not familiar with coding and want to protect my media with encryption. I am trying to implement this on an XBMC Live installation - any idea how to get it working?

Thanks,
J

I would imagine there would be huge drawbacks to this. Speed being the main issue. I don't see why you would really do this.
Nothing to see here....

Has anyone looked at updating these scripts for XBMC Frodo ?

Looks like they still use the outdated executehttpapi calls.

eg. xbmc.executehttpapi("Action(199)")
